Way of Teaching
When it comes to teaching their students, teachers from STI are always passionate about giving their students a more efficient and fun way to learn. They make sure that any raised concerns are not ignored and are properly attended to. Some lecturers have their own methods or ways of how students would be able to fully understand a certain topic. An example of this is encouraging students to engage in activities like group work, quizzes, recitations, debating, reporting, etc. In that way, their abilities to think would be further enhanced because of the diversity of questionnaires. In addition, they also display lesson presentations that come from eLMS, or the e-Learning Management System of STI, in which the students who prefer visual learning can have a better understanding of the topic.
Approach to Students
There are two ways teachers approach their students. One of them is communication through MS Teams and consultation. In STI, whether it is from different branches, both students and teachers are given new Microsoft accounts that are meant to be used in Microsoft applications only. One of these applications is Microsoft Teams, the main application for students and instructors to communicate regarding school matters. It is required to use the application to avoid the two parties from communicating with their personal accounts in other social medias.
Moreover, STI OrCa has provided a consultation area that is located in Building B, 3rd floor. Consultation works when students inquire or address their concerns to an instructor in a specific date or time. They may ask questions regarding the lesson, grade, and instructed task.
The guidance counselor is also located on the same floor as the consultation area. Through them, a student can voice out any type of problem that they may be carrying around, then the instructor can help the students sort out their feelings.
How to Pass Activities?
Students either answer their activities through Microsoft 365, but they can also use paper and then taking a picture to submit their outputs through eLMS.
